Day 20: Melissa Joe

Melissa Joe is a Kenyan visual artist who has been practicing art since she was 17 years old. She finds inspiration from the lives of this around her, other African artists and pinterest.

Melissa is also the president of The Hadassah Project. As she describes "Through The Hadassah Project, tomorrow's leaders get an opportunity to explore their uniquely gifted areas and thrive within them - something a lot of us have been unable to do. My team and I hold regular art exhibitions and auctions, as a marketing strategy, as well as a method of generating income. We've also participated in a couple of global competitions and have successfully benefited from the publicly, mentorship and finances of two of them."

She has exhibited at Imarisha Dada, an event in partnership with Alliance Francaise.
