Day 05: Chelwek

Naney Chelagat popularly known as Chelwek is a Nairobi based artist, illustrator, muralist and graffiti artist who has been featured in various local press publications and has exhibited internationally.

She describes herself as a creative soul who uses vast media to express herself. "My trade varies from acrylics on canvas to aerosol on the wall and a little bit of digital illustrations to be the icing on the cake."

Chelwek was recently featured in a documentary titled “The Creative Process - A Documentary telling the stories of seven Kenyan-based artists”  which you can watch here. The documentary was produced by UPSYD Films.
